Morning Wahoos - Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and enjoyed your time at the pool, beach, river, or where ever you were!
Congrats to Megan on her wedding this weekend. She and her husband Bo will be honeymooning in August once Bo is done sitting for the bar and we are done swimming.
Just a few friendly reminders for this week:
1) We are still accepting registrations for swim and dive - if you have registered for swim and want to dive or registered to dive and want to swim, its just $25 more. Simply notify me and pass a check made payable to WRA onto Flo Dooley either directly or through the Woodmont Post Office box address found on the membership page. If you haven't gotten your registration form in yet, please contact me ASAP, we'd actually like to resolve all of that today if we can. It will make for a much smoother registration process with JRAC.
2) With the pool now open our 5:30 midget/junior practice will be a little tighter as we will not have as many lanes available for us. Please work with Megan and Katie to see if it it might be appropriate for your 11-12 year old swimmer to practice from 4:00-5:00 with our oldest swimmers. This will not be the right solution for all, but may work for some of the more experienced juniors and allow everyone to get a little more space in the lanes.
3) The Ice Cream/Tie Die Swim & Dive Social is coming up this Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30 - please remember to RSVP to the evite so that our ice cream/tie die coordinators can ensure we have enough supplies to tie die and enough Ice Cream to share. The ice cream will be provided by the team, but we are asking for donations of topings, take a look at the evite and let us know what you can do. Also there will be a partent meeting for the swim team from 4:00-4:30 to fill you in on some of the details of our upcoming meets.
4) The Final training clinic opportuntity is this Wednesday beginning at 6 at Avalon - please consider attending if you haven't already. Clerk of Course and Strokes&Turns represent our biggest need. And for those of you who'd like to rehear what you heard for the first time going one more time is always an option. Here is the official schedule for the classes - it has changed slightly from the other training clinics:
STARTER HEAD TABLE REFEREE S&T HEAD TIMER
6:00 – 7:00 6:00 – 7:00 6:00 – 6:45 6:50 – 8:15 7:00 – 7:30
Clerk of Course
6:00 – 7:00
Thanks for all you do parents to make this a wonderful experience for your kids - we are working through the sign-up genius over the next few days and hope to have that finalized and reposted by the end of this week so you will know for certain what your swim meet commitments are. Where you are new to a trained position, we are working to have an individual experienced in that role for you to shadow the first time you work that role. Thanks for your patience as we ensure that everyone is doing their part!
See you at the pool ~

All of the classes are 1 hour or less - so it is not a major commitment, but your attendance is absolutely necessary to ensure the success of the season. Here's the schedule:
